Visit Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire
The Jardins de l'Imaginaire are a distinctly modern garden with a lovely setting overlooking the attractive town of Terrasson.
Exploring the Jardins de l'Imaginaire
A tour of the gardens starts in an area of clipped box and leads to a huge pergola covered in wisteria, jasmine and various other scented plants - heavenly!
The next section leads through the trees underplanted with brightly coloured flowers and in the air a golden ribbon winds around the path.
Next is a moss garden with mosses covering old stone walls and providing a very verdant picture.
Next comes a sort of modern ampitheatre with wonderful views over the lovely town of Terrasson. Rows of blue nepetas provide a visual link with the blue slate roofs below.
On to the furthest point of the garden and the wonderful area of water jets which is a favourite for many visitors to the garden.
The return journey takes you past the wonderful blue structure supporting and surrounded by more than 2000 roses.
Another water feature with water falls and fountains again adds a welcome freshness to the garden - very welcome in the heat of summer.
The final destination in the garden is a modern greenhouse made of stone, metal and glass.
All in all in the garden there are 2000 roses, 20,000 perennials, 120 water jets and 800 trees and shrubs.
Les Jardins de l'Imaginaire have been classified as a 'Jardin Remarquable'.
