The Tobacco Barn sleeps up to seven people in three bedrooms, each with it's own en suite shower room. It has been tastefully furnished with comfortable antique furniture. A separate fully equipped kitchen, complete with dishwasher. The beautifully furnished lounge features a Perigordian stone fireplace, beamed ceiling and lots of natural stone features. Satellite English and French freeview TV and DVD player are provided.The lounge patio doors lead directly on to the pool terrace and 10 x 4.5 m pool where there is also a wooden gazebo for warm evenings and out door dining. The gazebo has the benefit of stunning views over the Vezere valley and the unique natural rock feature of La Roque St Christophe.
Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor which makes it ideal for older people or those who have limited mobility. Each bedroom is accessed by a small step. The size and layout of the shower rooms would prove difficult for people with a walking frames.

Les Granges is well situated to explore all that the Perigord has to offer, the caves of Lascaux, the towns of Sarlat, Beynac, Domme, Perigueux.Directly opposite is the UNESCO world heritage site of Le Roque St Christophe, the site of a small Bastide town dating back 55,000 years and inhabited up to the 16th century. This kilometer long cave carved into the rock thousands of years ago is lit up at night and makes a spectacular view from the properties.
There are many sites dating back to Prehistoric times, caves, grottos, cave paintings, all situated in the most beautiful countryside. The area has been made famous by Jean Auel's Earth's Children books. The sixth and latest one, Land of Painted Caves, was published in 2011. Many of our customers come to stay to see the area linked to these books.
The Perigord is noted also for its gastronomy, foie gras, truffles, confit de canard, wild mushrooms and walnuts! We are surrounded by pretty villages, all with markets at least once a week, giving our renters the opportunity to experiment with the local produce.

Terms and conditions
10% discount for second week.30% Deposit is required to secure the booking, balance payable 10 weeks before arrival.
A final cleaning charge of €50 is payable on departure. There will be a nominal charge for a supply of logs during winter months.
Refundable breakage deposit of €200 required on arrival.
Payment is accepted by both French and English bank transfer or French or English cheque.

The HayBarn
The Hay Barn is the most spacious of our three, 2 person, gites which all share a swimming pool. It benefits from a large, airy interior and large private terrace with it's own sunbeds. Wonderful views across the valley to La Roque Saint Christophe.
The Walnut Store
The tranquil Walnut Store is one of our three gites designed for couples, which share a swimming pool. It has a lovely terrace to sit, relax, share a glass of wine, a few of the local walnuts and BBQ your duck breasts bought at the market in Montignac!
La Roque Terrace
The charming, cosy, La Roque Terrace is perfect for 2 people. One of our 4 gites which share a swimming pool. A wooden terrace at the front gives wonderful views across to La Roque Saint Christophe and benefits from the natural shade of a tilia tree.
