Property description
Orchard View cottage is the second biggest of the self-catering gites at 'Le Jardin des Amis' comprising 3 ensuite bedrooms (2 double/1 twin) and a well equipped kitchen with open plan dining/living area. It has a lovely sunny aspect.
The kitchen has a full size electric oven, gas hob, microwave oven, dishwasher, coffee maker and kettle. There is a washing machine and other laundry facilities available for the use of all guests, to the rear of the gite.
The properties were originally a farm which has been renovated to retain original features such as exposed beams and 'pierre apparent' walls. Orchard View is arranged on two floors, accessed via a veranda which looks out to the rear of the properties: the perfect spot for an early evening glass of wine with its view of the pool and orchard.
The 12 x 6m pool (open from 1st May - 30th September) is shared between the gites and has a ‘salt-system’ rather than the traditional chlorine system: ideal for anyone with a sensitive skin. Our pool bar is the ideal place to socialize after a busy day of sight-seeing and also houses a library of books, games and sports equipment which guests are welcome to borrow.
There is plenty of room to wander, or for children to play in our 7 acres of grounds: a full size table-tennis table, a football goal and badminton net/equipment will help to keep children (and adults) amused!

Location description
If you prefer to eat out, Le Jardin des Amis is only a short walk from the centre of Meyrals village, with it's boulangerie/epicerie, bar, restaurants, post office and antiques shop. The beautiful medieval town of Sarlat is 15k (9miles) away whilst Les Eyzies with its many caves and National museum of prehistory is only 4 miles.
Dramatic rock faces, sparkling rivers, green valleys, Chateaux, medieval villages, prehistoric caves and brilliant sunlight. The Dordogne, has been described by some as paradise.
The region is dominated by pre-history, beautiful architecture and gastronomy. The local markets are full to brimming with some of the best produce France has to offer. Whether you wish to visit the local caves with their drawings dating back 20,000 years, picnic by the banks of the Vezere or Dordogne river, taste the excellent wines from Bergerac, Cahors and surround or canoe ‘Le Jardin des Amis’ is at the very heart of it all.
If you are a food lover, then welcome to gastronomic heaven! Ceps, truffles and Foie Gras are all readily available as are the freshest vegetables, herbs, meat, poultry and game. Simply visit one of the daily local markets to stock up on good things to prepare back in your kitchen. has 2 restaurants only a stroll away, whilst many others can be found in the surrounding are the surrounding area.
