This traditional stone farmhouse has been tastefully restored to retain its original charm yet provide modern comforts and amenities, with a 10m x 5m swimming pool. Despite the restful setting, you are only 3Km from the historic village of Bourdeilles with its 11th Century Chateau, and 15km from the picturesque town of Brantôme. Relax in this beautiful setting in the rolling Dordogne countryside. Enjoy the top class food at local restaurants, canoe down the River Dronne, or visit the many interesting attractions and picturesque villages.
Property description
Les Chauses is situated in an idyllic setting in a small hamlet
The house is approximately 250 years old, and has been restored and equipped to a high standard with all modern conveniences, whilst retaining a rustic country farmhouse feeling with it's old beams, exposed stone walls, wooden floors and kitchen with local quarry tiles.
There is a sunny patio to the side of the house, with shade from an apple tree. The garden slopes down to attractive woods, and in the centre is the 10m x 5m swimming pool, built and maintained to a high standard. The pool is fully fenced and has a security gate for the safety of children.
Garden
The garden is totally private, and birds and wildlife abound in the natural woodland. A variety of trees provide plenty of shade.
An open sided barn to one side of the house is used to shelter the car and as a wood store, and there is ample garden furniture for barbeques or relaxing by the pool.
The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with rolling hills. and many delightful walks from the door. It is also wonderful cycling country and cycles are available on request.
Ground floor:
Large sitting room, triple aspect, large fireplace with a wood-burning stove. Exposed stone with original alcoves and beamed ceiling.
Large kitchen, also triple aspect with a quarry tiled floor. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a large farmhouse table. From the dining area there are double doors to the patio and garden. There is ample garden furniture for barbeques.
The cloakroom has a washbasin, WC and a compact automatic washing machine.
First Floor:
There is a wooden staircase to the first floor with three bedrooms and bathroom leading off. The main bedroom has a double bed, and also has separate access to the bathroom. Bedroom two has one double and one single bed. Bedroom three has twin beds.
The large bathroom has a washbasin, toilet and bath with shower over.
Travel cot available on request.
Facilities:
Gas oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezing compartment, digital satellite TV (free channels only), telephone, parking for up to 3 cars, barbecue, garden furniture, 4 sun loungers. Swimming pool - 10m x 5m, with paving and patio area around pool.
Five mountain bikes are available for rental at £10 per week each. Suitable teenage to adult.

Please provide your own bed linen/duvet covers, pillowcases, towels and tea towels, if possible, however, they can be provided on request. Blankets and duvets are provided.

Location description
The surrounding countryside is green and attractive, with rolling hills. and many delightful walks from the door. It is also wonderful cycling country and there are four mountain bikes are available suitable for teenage to adult.
There are numerous opportunities for sightseeing and leisure activities, such as canoeing on the river Dronne at Bourdeilles (2 miles). Bourdeilles is lovely picturesque village with an 11th century chateau, shops and excellent restaurants.
Brantome (8 miles) is an interesting market town, and is known as the "Venice of the Dordogne" being surrounded by the river Dronne. It has an 11th century abbey and many other interesting buildings and attractions.
Perigueux (18 miles) is the capital city of the Dordogne and has a unique cathedral, roman remains and many other attractions.
There are spectacular natural formations to be found in the caves at Villars, and dozens of other activities and places to visit in the surrounding area.
