Property description
Couchant sleeps 6 and is an unusual 'upside down' gite with a light and airy upstairs living area, with spectacular beams. It is one of three gites here at Faysselle.
The hamlet of Faysselle is in a gorgeous twelve acres setting , surrounded by gardens, field and woodland, with views across a valley.
Couchant looks out across fields to the side, and its own garden to the front. It has one double and one twin bedroom downstairs, which stay delightfully cool during our hot summers. The third bedroom is tucked away up its own staircase and is much loved by the kids for being a bit secluded (and yet still within earshot of parents!). All bedrooms have insect screens in the windows, and fans. The bath/shower/wc and a second shower/wc are both on the ground floor.
Upstairs is the large open plan living area with comfy sofas, dining table for eight, satellite tv/radio with dvd, and the well equipped kitchen area. The quality oak kitchen was newly fitted in 2008 and has all the equipement, crockery, pots and pans etc that you would wish and expect.
Three steps down lead from the living room to the terrace with the essential BBQ. The terrace is shaded by mulberry, walnut and fig trees - pick your own fruit for breakfst in season!

Location description
Faysselle is in an idyllic location with no passing traffic and yet only 5 minutes from the historic village of St Maurin with its shop, bar and restaurant, museum and abbey ruins.
The surrounding area is wide open spaces of farmland with acres of wheatfields and sunflowers adorning the rolling countryside. Known as the market garden of France, there is no better area to enjoy the fresh regional produce which is so abundant in the local markets.
We are lucky to be within easy reach of Toulouse, Bergerac and Bordeaux airports, and just 30minutes from the A62 Bordeaux Toulouse motorway, and one hour from the A20 motorway at Cahors.
There is so much to do in the local area that all ages can be kept happy. Riding, golf, fishing, water sports, country and canal walks, boat hire, Parc Walibi theme park, water park, delightful medieval villages, roman remains, museums, and of course wonderful food!
During July//August a wonderful night market takes place every Wednesday night in St Maurin (also Saturday nights in Puymirol and Thursday nights in Lauzerte) where guests choose their meal from a variety of local produce cooked in situ, and eaten at tables in the village square, to the accompniament of a great band.
