Location description
We're just 1hr 10 mins from Bergerac airport or 45 mins from Brive airport. We're only 5 mins from the Ceou and Dordogne Rivers. And we're close to historic market towns of Sarlat, Cenac, Daglan, Baynac, Domme, Belves and St Cyprien.
There's plenty to do!
If you’re a gourmand, you will be in heaven as you peruse produce markets, indulge in fabulous Michelin starred food and treat yourself to some wine tasting.
If you’re more of an outdoors type you could hardly wish for more – nearby you can enjoy: Canoeing, Kayaking, Walking & Hiking, Cycling, Hot Air Ballooning, Rock Climbing, Horse Riding, Golf and Tennis!
And if you love history, in addition to the historic towns listed above (some of which date back to the 11th century) you will also find a host of chateaux, including the medieval chateau forts of Baynac and Castelnaud that were pivotal during the 100 years war. You can also visit the prehistoric cave paintings of Font du Gaume and Lascaux II, as well as the troglodyte villages of La Roque Gageac, La Madeleine and La Roque Saint-Christophe.
It’s also a great place for young children – there are lots of things to do that kids will enjoy and the owners can advise on where the safest, shallowest areas of the nearby rivers are (where their own children learnt to swim!)
To get to Les Bruguettes from Castelnaud la Chappelle:
Take the D57 in the direction of St Cybranet and pass through the village of Pont de Cause. In 1.5km you'll reach St Cybranet.
In St Cybranet, turn right immediately after the Marie (in the direction of Chapelle Pechaud D703) and continue up the hill.
Les Bruguettes is situated at the very top of the hill on your left hand side and is marked with a small sign.
To get here from Cenac:
At the crossroads in Cenac take the D50 in the direction of St Cybranet. In about 10 mins you will reach St Cybranet. On entering the village you will pass a Bio Marche and an Elan service station.
Take the first left after the garage immediately before the Marie (in the direction of Chapelle Pechaud D703) and continue up the hill.
Les Bruguettes is situated on the very top of the hill on the left hand side - just look out for the sign.
