Chene Vert is the original farm cottage at 'Le Jardin des Amis': a complex of 5 pretty self-catering gites with large pool, close to Les Eyzies & Sarlat.
Property description
The properties at Le Jardin des Amis were once all part of a farm and have been renovated to retain the traditional character features whilst giving modern facilities. Chene Vert (meaning green oak) is thought to be about 300 years old and has the thick stone walls which keep the property comfortably cool in the summer but which will retain the heat from its wood-burning stove in winter!
The cottage has an open-plan ground floor with well-equipped kitchen/dining area and living room area. Spiral stairs take you up to the shower room and two bedrooms: one double and one twin. both bedrooms have wash hand basins.
At the front of the cottage steps lead from the veranda (with table and chairs for sunny breakfasts/lunch) to a small private fenced garden, overlooking other lawned areas. By evening the sun is on the back of the cottage where there is another patio/eating area for evening meals or a relaxing glass of local wine at the end of a busy day!Steps lead up from the patio to the pool area which is fenced and gated: the pool is also alarmed for safety.
A cot, high-chair, baby bath & basic buggy are available if required: please request when booking.

Location description
If you like to eat out, Le Jardin des Amis is only a short walk from the centre of Meyrals village, with it's bar, restaurants, boulangerie/epicerie, charcuterie, post office, pottery, art galleries and antiques shop. The beautiful medieval town of Sarlat is 15k (9miles) away whilst Les Eyzies, famed for its many caves with prehistoric paintings & carvings, and The National museum of prehistory is only 4 miles.
Dramatic rock faces, sparkling rivers, green valleys, Chateaux, medieval villages, prehistoric caves and brilliant sunlight. The Dordogne, has been described by some as paradise.The region is dominated by pre-history, beautiful architecture and gastronomy. The local markets are full to brimming with some of the best produce France has to offer. Whether you wish to visit the local caves with their drawings dating back 20,000 years; picnic by the banks of the Vezere or Dordogne river; taste the excellent wines from Bergerac, Cahors and surround; or spend an afternoon canoeing, ‘Le Jardin des Amis’ is at the very heart of it all.
If you are a food lover, then welcome to gastronomic heaven! Ceps, truffles (when in season) and Foie Gras are all readily available as are the freshest vegetables, herbs, meat, poultry and game. Simply visit one of the daily local markets to stock up on good things to prepare back in your kitchen: the big Sunday market in St.Cyprien(3 miles) is a good place to start!

Terms and conditions
A 25% deposit is required in order to confirm a booking. The balance must be made 6 weeks before the start of the holiday.
Payment can be made by credit card/PayPal or by bank transfer.
A 150€ damage deposit must be paid on arrival: this is returned on departure, provided that no damage has been caused and that the cottage is left in a clean and tidy condition. (A cleaning service is available if wished).
A local 'Taxe de Sejour' is also payable @ 0.4€ per night, per adult/child 14 years+
