Property description
Our ground floor, one bedroom apartment has been designed to be suitable for all guests, including those with limited mobility as the double doors and open plan interior make wheelchair access possible.
This gite offers comfortable self-contained accommodation for a couple or a cot & highchair can be added to make it suitable for those with a young baby. The double bedroom has an ensuite 'wet room' style of shower room: big enough to wheel a chair into.
The kitchen area has a gas cooker, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and coffee maker and shared laundry facilities are provided at the rear of the properties.
French windows lead out into the enclosed garden area (ideal if you wish to bring a well-behaved dog) where you can dine under the wisteria -covered pergola. Walk to the rear of Magnolia to use the 12 x 6 metre pool or socialise at the pool bar. Beyond the pool is the orchard and our meadow/woodland area: you are free to wander in our grounds and in spring and early summer will find wild orchids and other wild flowers growing in abundance!

Location description
If you prefer to eat out, Le Jardin des Amis is only a short walk from the centre of Meyrals village, with it's boulangerie/epicerie, charcuterie, bar, restaurants, post office, pottery, antiques shop & art galleries. The beautiful medieval town of Sarlat is 15k (9miles) away whilst Les Eyzies with its many caves and National museum of prehistory is only 4 miles.
Dramatic rock faces, sparkling rivers, green valleys, Chateaux, medieval villages, prehistoric caves and brilliant sunlight. The Dordogne, has been described by some as paradise.
The region is dominated by pre-history, beautiful architecture and gastronomy. The local markets are full to brimming with some of the best produce France has to offer. Whether you wish to visit the local caves with their drawings dating back 20,000 years, picnic by the banks of the Vezere or Dordogne river, taste the excellent wines from Bergerac, Cahors and surround or canoe ‘Le Jardin des Amis’ is at the very heart of it all.
If you are a food lover, then welcome to gastronomic heaven! Ceps, truffles and Foie Gras are all readily available as are the freshest vegetables, herbs, meat, poultry and game. Simply visit one of the daily local markets to stock up on good things to prepare back in your kitchen: the big sunday market in St. Cyprien(3 miles away) is a good place to start!
