Domaine des Blanches Colombes is the perfect place to stay for a fabulous holiday. Situated in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne Valley, the 17th century stone manor and gites are ideally placed for visits to all the attractions that South West France has to offer. Rich in history, from the pre-historic decorated caves to the medieval bastide towns, the Dordogne is also a gourmets heartland.

Degas is a cosy and comfortable one bedroom cottage, perfect for couples. It is situated in a charming courtyard that it shares with Matisse just across a little road from Domaine des Blanches Colombes. This charming gîte is all on one level with a fully fitted open plan kitchen and living room with a comfortable sofa, dining table, large exposed fireplace, dishwasher, oven, microwave and fridge freezer.Degas has a bathroom with a bath, toilet and sink and the bedroom has a beautiful French double bed.

Outside, Degas has its own patio area, with table and chairs and a sun parasol, within a beautiful courtyard and benefits from all the facilities on offer - including the heated swimming pool and the games barn.Each gîte comes with a games chest filled with games for all the family and a cot and highchair can be arranged if required.

Facilities: Dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, satellite TV, DVD player. Garden Furniture and BBQ.

Ideal for summer holidays and weekend breaks Domaine des Blanches Colombes is open all year round. The large swimming pool is heated from April through to October (weather dependant).We will try to make your stay perfect, nothing is too much trouble for our guests.

Location description

Domaine des Blanches Colombes nestles on the edge of the beautiful hamlet Grand Castang, just a short drive from the pretty market town of Lalinde. This is a delightful town with small shops selling gourmet delights and all things French along with lovely restaurants and cafes.

About 20 minutes drive to the West is Bergerac, on the right bank of the Dordogne. The area around Bergerac is famous for its vineyards, and Bergerac Old Town is definitely worth exploring to find its amazing restaurants and traditional French shops. To the East is Sarlat, a stunning medieval town, every visit leaves you breathless, the winding streets meander around a Benedictine Abbey. Much of the town is built of tan sandstone in the 16th and 17th century and the weekly Saturday market is well worth a visit.

Dotted along the Dordogne (7mins away) are the most picturesque villages, built into the rock hundreds of years ago and still standing. Take your pick from the beautiful Chateaux and hilltop castles, Chateau de Hautefort and Chateau de Castelnaud are incredible.Gaze in wonder at the 20,000 year old paintings in the caves at Lascaux and Font de Gaume or the Romanesque carved stone in Souillac’s Abbaye Ste Marie.

For the very active – there’s plenty of sporting activities from horse riding to canoeing, fishing, golf and tennis. With the river so near water sports are very popular.This area is the gourmet heartland of France and is the home of Fois Gras, which together with truffles, walnuts and wine are, makes dining out at the excellent local restaurants a must.We are happy to offer assistance and guidance on trips and will gladly book them in advance for you.
