Bed & Breakfast in our restored country home with swimming pool and ensuite bedrooms in the Perigord Noir region of the Dordogne. Set in five acres of woods and meadows a haven of peace and tranquility yet convenient for all the many places of interest in the area.
Property description
Charming country bed & breakfast surrounded by five acres of grounds situated close to Les Eyzies (15 minutes drive) and the Vezere river. All bedroom are ensuite each individually furnished to a high standard. There is a sitting room with french windows leading onto a large south-facing terrace overlooking the swimming pool. A buffet breakfast is served either in the dining room or on the terrace locally grown strawberries (the region is famous for these), juicy melons and fresh bread and pastries a feast to start your day. Then relax by the pool with its roman steps (ideal for cooling off!) or if feeling energetic take a stroll along one of the many country lanes close by. Pool towels are provided daily without charge (which is a great help guests arriving by air - cutting down on suitcase weight)
We are happy to provide our guests with tea, coffee, soft drinks or a glass of wine (without charge) after a busy day of sightseeing, relaxing by the pool or on your return from dinner at one of the many restaurants a short drive from us

Location description
The Dordogne is famous for its food and wine so the Tuesday and Saturday markets in Le Bugue just 15 minutes drive is the ideal place to test your French and try a few tastings. If history is your passion then visit the Museum of Pre-History in Les Eyzies a UNESCO site of special importance with its many caves. Font de Gaume is one of these and has cave paintings that rival Lascaux.
Les Eyzies and Le Bugue are both on the Vezere river and canoes can be hired for either a couple of hours or a full day. If you are less energetic then sit at one of the many cafes and marvel at the scenery. There is so much to do in the region cycling, fishing, golf (a course only 5 minutes from "chez nous"), horse-riding, sailing, tennis.
Sarlat a medieval town, Perigueux the capital of the region and the wine town of Bergerac (with its airport) are all 45 minutes away. The scenery of the region is very special and there is much to see and do whether it is visiting one of the many castles or gardens along the Dordogne river.
