Le Four à Sel is a group of renovated Perigordine stone farmhouses now offered as bed and breakfast and 3 holiday homes(gites). Villa Orchidee is the main house with five bedrooms for bed and breakfast, all en-suite, offering a choice of double, triple and family rooms.
Nestled in 14 acres , in a stunning riverside setting, it is in an excellent location, peaceful and secluded yet only 2 km(5 min drive) from the nearest shops at Montignac,and the world famous Lascaux caves, 25 minutes from mediaval Sarlat,most tourist sites not far way , an ideal place to base yourself to discover the Dordogne. Facilities Onsite include a shared 10m x 4m swimming pool, huge garden + orchard, covered terrace for just relaxing or even outdoor dining in the shade, a covered play area with table tennis and basketball and an outdoor play area. It has 450 m of river frontage for private fishing,and wifi is available free of charge.
Here, you will not feel confined to your room. After a long drive or a day's sight seeing, you can sit outside in the covered terrace sipping a glass of the local wine, or have a picnic by the river; perhaps read a book under the cherry tree , even go for a walk across the cornfields to a viewpoint that presents a spectacular panoramic view of the valley and its cluster of 3 chateaux .
Villa Orchidée is available, with sufficient notice, as a 5-bedroomed Dordogne holiday home(gìte) sleeping up to 15 . In total, the property can accommodate 28 people, ideal for several families or groups of friends holidaying together and is perfect for huge gatherings to celebrate an occasion like a wedding an anniversary or birthday celebration .

Location description
Le Four a Sel is in the village of Aubas, 2km from Montignac & the prehistoric Lascaux caves and 25 minutes from the medieval town of Sarlat & Les Eyzies. Popular Tourist sites like Chateau Hautefort, Domme, the feudal fortress of Commargue, the gardens of Marquessac, Roque Gageac ,a village carved on a hilltop, Roque St. Christophe , the medieval village of Castlenaud are not far away. We are in the Perigord Noir where you can sample the regional delights of foie gras, truffles,and walnuts. Major towns close by are Perigeux and Brive and closest airports are Brive/Souillac(40 minutes drive) Bergerac & Limoges (1hr 30 min). Bordeaux airport is 1hr 45 minutes, and the vineyards of St. Emillion can be visited as a day trip. For walkers, cyclists or those who simply like to take a gentle drive along meandering country lanes, this is a magnificent corner of France to explore not least because, with every twist & turn, there's something new to discover.

A 25% deposit is required to guarantee the reservation. For b&b rooms, payment of the balance is made on arrival. For the gites, the balance is made 10 weeks before arrival.
