Welcome to  Le Baraillot, a delightful chambres d’hôtes with restaurant, situated  in the beautiful Lot & Garonne where you will find many historic bastide towns as well as the glorious French chateaux.  The landscape in this area is greener than other typical holiday areas.

If you are walking, cycling riding or just enjoying the views, the terrain is a mixture of rolling hills, valleys and pretty market villages. There are few main roads and very little traffic, and this reminds you of a rural England of 30 years ago yet with all things French that so many of us dream of.  Linda and Patrick Coone, your Belgian born hosts, have lived in the Lot et Garonne for over 3 years, and they offer guests a very warm welcome to their home which is set in a peaceful, tranquil countryside location, ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation as well as for the ore active of touring the surrounding areas. 

Le Baraillot is the perfect place to escape from the stresses of modern life and is ideal for couples and families alike. People return year after year and are always happy to recommend Le Baraillot to their friends and family.

Location description

Bed & Breakfast

Breakfast is a morning feast and is served in the dining room during the colder months or outside on the terrace in the summer. Croissants and French bread, pain au chocolate, boiled eggs, cold meats and cheese, cereals and yoghurts, jams and honey, coffee or a selection of teas, and seasonal fresh fruit of the region are on offer each morning.  

Table d'hôtes

 

 A simple but tasty 3 course dinner including an aperitif, wine and coffee are offered for those clients staying overnight.  Local and seasonal products are presented and prepared with originality and love. Only fresh and local produce are used, and if you are a food lover, you will not be left wanting; the region is internationally known for its superb foie gras, it’s diversity of duck recipies, it’s succulent vins de Cahors, Bergerac, Duras, Buzet, Madiran, Marmandais, it’s world famous Armagnac and its unforgettable “pruneaux d’Agen” (prunes of Agen). Each of these local specialities is a must for anyone staying in the area.
A diet will not be accepted as an excuse! 

 

The restaurant

Le Baraillot restaurant was opened last year April and is already a success amongst locals and tourists alike. Serving the freshest locally sourced, seasonal produce and where possible directly from the farmers, the restaurant is an extension of our table d’hotes offering.Many of the original features in the dining room have been retained creating a warm and cosy atmosphere where the service is relaxed and friendly.  Toulouse brick walls, open fireplace and feature mirror blends perfectly with the more contemporary elements to create a homely atmosphere.  The restaurant can seat up to 35 people and in the summer months, tables are placed outside on the terrace so you have a choice as to where you would like to sit and enjoy your lunch or dinner. Open for lunch and dinner in high season every day except for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings.
