La Cachette B&B is close to Sarlat and Domme, in the heart of the Perigord Noir region of the beautiful Dordogne. Situated in an elevated position, overlooking the village of Grolejac with wonderful views down to the Dordogne valley. The river Dordogne winds its way past the village.
Property description
La Cachette sleeps 4/5 adults in two comfortable large double rooms (one with additional single bed). Guests have use of a sunny decked terrace which overlooks the terraced rear garden and has a beautiful view of the Dordogne valley A lovely place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine or afternoon tea, and take in the view. The terraced garden has sun-loungers. We have a picnic basket available for guests to take out with them, or for snacks on the terrace.
Our generous continental breakfast is served on the sunny front terrace, or in the beamed salon between 8.30 am and 9.00 am. We serve our breakfast directly to our guests and it is not buffet style, which means our guests can just sit back, relax (hopefully in the sunshine) and enjoy.
Our rooms are named after two of the local chateaux. Both rooms are large with exposed beams and seating. Hairdryer supplied in each room.
FENELON: Large double with additional single bed, en-suite shower room with toilet and washbasin.
MONTFORT: Large double with views down the valley, and a large private shower room with toilet and wash basin.
Wifi INTERNET ACCESS.
Off road parking for 2 cars.
We are sorry but we do not accommodate children.
No smoking inside the house and no pets allowed.

Location description
La Cachette is close to medieval Sarlat and the bastide town of Domme. The picturesque riverside villages of La Roque Gageac and Beynac are an easy drive. Rocamador is an hour away. There is so much to see and do in the beautiful Dordogne. We have lots of information for our guests to use and can help with advise on scenic routes to take, parking places, local fetes being held, etc. etc. It is also possible to explore the Lot region where there are many more beautiful villages.
Locally in the village of Grolejac there are 4 restaurants (2 with a bar) within walking distance, (many more restaurants within a short drive). A large lake with a sandy beach, canoe hire on the river, an excellent cycle path (we have 2 bikes for hire) and a tennis court (golf course close by).
We have 4 airports within a 2 hour drive. The closest is Brive Vallee de la Dordogne at 45 mins with flights from London City via Cityjet. Bergerac is approx 1.5 hour drive (non-auto route). Limoges and Toulouse within a 2 hour drive via A20 autoroute. All operate low cost flights and car hire is available.
By road we are approx 35 mins from the A20 exit 55.
By rail we are approx 1 hour from Brive station (car hire available).
Price Details
Both our rooms are 56 euros per night for 2 adults (we cannot accommodate children). Inclusive of our generous continental breakfast.
Single occupancy is 49 euros per night.
A third person sharing our Fenelon room is 28 euros per night.
There is a local tax sejour in addition of 33 cents per person, per night.
OUR PRICES ARE THE SAME ALL SEASON - NO INCREASE FOR THE MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST.
